Error 2 causes installation failure

Learn how to resolve error code 2 "AdobeGenuineClient package broken" during app installation.

Error code 2 indicates that some files inside the AdobeGenuineClient folder were missing. The folder is present inside the Adobe Desktop Common folder of the Creative Cloud desktop app.

You can find the AdobeGenuineClient folder at these locations:

  • Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\AdobeGenuineClient
  • macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Desktop Common/AdobeGenuineClient

Solution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. On the right panel, select Updates > Check for updates.

    Once the update check is complete, the app will automatically fix the Adobe Genuine Service binary issue.
