Solution

To resolve this error, follow these steps:

Background app is blocking the installer

Active applications like browsers or system utilities can interfere with the installation process. To resolve, follow these steps:

  1. Close the browser, and install the app again.

  2. If the error persists, restart your machine and install the app again.

  3. If restarting doesn't help, uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app using the uninstaller, and install the app again.

If the basic steps don't resolve the issue, try these advanced steps:

  1. Navigate to the ACC Log file. Go to: C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Temp\CreativeCloud\ACC.

  2. Search for the keyword LockedFilesWithProcesses in the log file.

  3. Identify the affected file from the error log: For example, if the error reads LockedFilesWithProcesses: ADC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\ADS: chrome.exe. Here, chrome.exe is locking the path.

  4. Open the Task Manager, locate the process, and end it.

  5. Install the app again.
