Learn how to resolve error code 118 "No internet connection" during Adobe app download.

Error code 118 indicates that the connection to the server is faulty or that the internet connection is unavailable.

Solution

Network issues can prevent Adobe app download, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

No internet connection found

You need an active internet connection to download and update apps.

  1. Verify that you are connected to the internet.

  2. Once connected, select Retry on the error dialog box to restart the download.

Software firewall has restricted access to your computer

Software firewalls can restrict internet access and cause download errors (commonly error 205).

  • If prompted, allow the Creative Cloud desktop app to access the internet.
  • If not prompted, temporarily disable software firewalls to check if they're blocking access. For help, refer to your firewall software documentation.

Antivirus software is blocking the download

If the issue persists after checking your software firewall, temporarily disable the antivirus software. Check your antivirus documentation for information on temporarily disabling your antivirus.

Hardware firewalls or proxy servers may not be connected to the internet

Many organizations use a hardware firewall and proxy server to prevent software from accessing an outside server. A hardware solution applies to all computers within the corporate network. Most home networks don't use hardware firewalls or proxy technology.

Contact your company's IT department to obtain firewall or proxy information. Configure your browser with proxy or firewall information to bypass these servers:

  • ccmdl.adobe.com:80
  • swupmf.adobe.com:80
  • swupdl.adobe.com:80

Internet connection is poor

If you're connected via Wi-Fi, try a wired connection. If you're connected via a wired connection, try using a different cable.
