Go to the AdobeGCClient folder and delete it along with all its contents. Find the existing folder in the following location:
- Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AdobeGCClient
- macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobeGCClient
Error code 5 indicates that gccustomhook failed to move the AGSService binary from the AdobeGenuineClient folder (the installer location) to the AdobeGCClient folder.
The possible reasons for the failure are that the Adobe Genuine binaries were not present in the installer folder or the permissions of the AdobeGCClient folder were not correct. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Go to the AdobeGCClient folder and delete it along with all its contents. Find the existing folder in the following location:
Select Updates > Check for Updates from the Creative Cloud desktop app home page. The app automatically corrects any broken files in the AdobeGenuineClient folder.
Based on your requirement, select Accept or Deny on the Adobe Genuine Service consent dialog box.
