Error 304 causes installation failure

Learn how to resolve error code 304 "The installation is no longer functional" during Adobe app installation.

Error code 304 indicates that the installation is no longer functional.

Solution

You can resolve the issue by downloading and installing the latest version of the Creative Cloud desktop app. If it doesn't resolve the issue, install the latest digital certificates manually.

Download the latest version of Creative Cloud desktop app

  1. Go to the Creative Cloud download page. Your download will begin automatically.

    The How to install Creative Cloud page shows the steps to install Creative Cloud desktop app, and options to restart download and get help.
    If the download doesn't start, select Restart download to try again.

  2. Double-click the downloaded file to begin installation:

    • macOS: Creative_Cloud_Installer.dmg
    • Windows: Creative_Cloud_Set-Up.exe
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your installation.

    Note

    The Creative Cloud desktop app always installs in the default location. You cannot specify a different folder or drive.

Install the latest digital certificate

Download and extract the certificates, and install them in the Trusted Root certification authority.

  1. Once the certificates are installed, update or install your app again.
