Learn how to resolve error code 201 "There is a problem with the download process" during Creative Cloud app installation or update.
Error code 201 indicates an installation or update failure that occurs when the downloaded file is damaged or when your device is unable to connect to Adobe’s servers during the installation or update of a Creative Cloud app.
To resolve the error, try these solutions in the given order.
Device isn't connected to the internet
An active internet connection is required to download and update Creative Cloud apps.
Once connected, select Retry to restart the download.
Network connection is restricted or unstable
A weak or restricted network can interrupt downloads.
If you have access to more than one network, switch to a different connection and try again.
If switching networks isn’t possible, review the settings for any connected routers or access points. Make sure they grant access to Adobe software and services.
Software firewall has restricted access to your device
Firewalls can block the Creative Cloud desktop app from accessing the internet.
- If prompted by your firewall, allow the Creative Cloud desktop app to establish a connection.

After configuring the firewall, select Retry in the installer.
Antivirus software is blocking the download
If the issue continues after checking firewall settings, temporarily disable your antivirus software and try the installation again. Refer to your antivirus software's documentation for instructions on temporarily disabling it.

If you're in an enterprise environment, contact your IT administrator to configure the firewall settings.
