Error 205 causes download file failure

Learn how to resolve error code 205 "There is a problem with the downloaded file" during Adobe app installation.

Error 205 indicates that there was an issue with the downloaded file, which may be caused by a corrupted download or network-related problems. This can also occur if security software or firewall settings interfere with the download process.

Solution

To resolve this error, try these solutions in order:

Network restrictions or an unstable connection are causing installation issues

If you have more than one Internet connection, try using the other one. Then, install the app again.

Software firewall has restricted access to your computer

Firewalls can block the Creative Cloud desktop app from accessing the internet.

  • If prompted by your firewall, allow the Creative Cloud desktop app to connect.

Once you've configured the software firewall, select Retry in the installer.

Your antivirus software is blocking the download

If the issue persists after checking your software firewall, temporarily disable the antivirus software. Check your antivirus documentation for information on temporarily disabling your antivirus.
