Error 202 causes installation failure

Last updated on Jul 30, 2025

Learn how to resolve error code 202  "Installation failed" during Adobe app installation.

Error code 202 indicates an installation failure due to insufficient disk space on your internal drive. In some cases, it may also be caused by firewall restrictions or issues with the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Solution

To resolve this error, try these solutions in the given order:

Your internal drive has insufficient disk space

Adobe apps require adequate free space to install successfully.

  1. Delete unnecessary files and folders, uninstall unused applications, or move large files to an external drive or cloud storage.

  2. Once you’ve freed up enough space, install the app again.

Your firewall is blocking the installation

Firewalls can interfere with the installation process by restricting access.

  1. Temporarily disable your firewall software. Refer to your firewall software documentation for instructions.

  2. Install the app again via the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Note

Once the installation is complete, make sure to enable the firewall on your device again.

Creative Cloud desktop app is not functioning properly

A corrupted or outdated Creative Cloud desktop app can prevent successful installation.

  1. Uninstall the Creative Cloud desktop app.

  2. Download and reinstall it using the direct installer.

  3. Once you've successfully installed the Creative Cloud desktop app, install your app again.
