Learn how to view, edit, and save document metadata in PDFs using Adobe Acrobat.


Append document metadata

Windows

Select Menu > Document properties > Description.

Select Additional Metadata and then select Advanced from the left pane.

To add previously saved information, select Append, select an XMP or FFO file, and then select Open.

To add new information and replace the current metadata, select Replace, select the file and then select Open.

To delete an XML schema, select it and then select Delete.

Select OK.

macOS

Select View> Document properties > Description.

Select Additional Metadata and then select Advanced from the left pane.

Save metadata as a file

In the dialog box that opens, type a name and specify the location to for the new file.

Select Save.
