Move form fields

Learn how to easily move form fields to adjust the layout of PDF forms in Adobe Acrobat.

Open a fillable PDF form.

Select All tools > Prepare a form.

Select one or more form fields that you want to move.

Do any of the following as needed:

  • To move the form fields, drag the selected form fields to the desired location.
  • To constrain movement to a horizontal or vertical direction, press Shift while dragging the selection.
  • To move to a specific location, right-click the field and select Properties. Select the Position tab and set the Position values.
  • To move horizontally or vertically in small increments, press the arrow keys to nudge the selected form field into the desired position.
  • To move a form field to the center of a page, right-click the field and select Cut and then navigate to the desired spot and select Paste.
