Verify certificate information

Last updated on Aug 16, 2025

Learn how to check the details of digital certificates in Adobe Acrobat to ensure their validity and trustworthiness.

Digital certificates include key details like the holder’s identity, validity period, usage, serial number, and public key method. You can also check if the certificate has been revoked, which may occur due to employee departure or a security issue.

Note

If you're unsure about the certificate’s authenticity, contact the certificate owner to verify the fingerprint (MD5 and SHA1 digest) values. For more information on verifying certificates, refer to the Digital Signatures User Guide.
