Learn how to view and filter comments during PDF reviews using Adobe Acrobat.
When you open a document from the home view, the Comments list appears in the right pane of the document window. It displays all comments in a PDF and provides a toolbar with options for sorting, filtering, and other options for working with comments.
From the Options menu of the Comments panel, select any of the following:
- To expand or collapse the comments, select Expand All or Collapse All in the Comments list options menu.
- To print a summary of the comments, select Print with Comment Summary.
- To create a summary of the comments, select Create Comment Summary
- To export data to a particular file type, select Export All To Data File
- To export specific data, select Export Selected To Data File
- To export the summary to a Word document, select Export to Word.
- Specify Commenting Preferences.
- To sort comments by page, author, date, type, unread status, or color, select Sort comments.
To filter the comments, select Filter comments from the Comments pane, choose any of the following:
- To clear all filters, select Clear all. You can also use Ctrl + 8 (Windows) or Command + 8 (Mac OS).
- Use the toggle switch to show or hide all comments. You can also use Ctrl + Shift + 8 (Windows) or Command + Shift + 8 (Mac OS).
- To filter comments based on type such as sticky note or highlight, select Sticky Note or Highlight under Type drop-down menu.
- To filter comments based on the status such as read or unread, select Read or Unread under Status drop-down menu.
- To open all pop-up notes, right-click an annotation and select Open all Pop-Ups.
- To close all pop-up notes, right-click an annotation and select Minimize Pop-Ups.
