Edit redaction codes and code sets in Acrobat Pro

Learn how to customize and manage redaction labels for sensitive content in PDFs using Adobe Acrobat.

Remove sensitive content and hidden data from your PDFs in a few simple steps.

Select All tools > Redact a PDF.

Select Set properties from the left pane.

In the dialog box that opens, select Use Overlay Text, and then select Redaction Code.

Select a code set under Code Entries and select Edit Codes.

In the Redaction Code Editor dialog box, do any of the following as required:

  • To remove a code entry, select the entry and then select Remove Code.
  • To rename a code entry, select the entry, type a new name in the box below the list, and then select Rename Code.
  • To remove an entire code set, select it from the Code Sets list and then select Remove Set.
  • To export a code set, select the set, then select Export Set
  • To import a code set, select Import Set.
  • To rename a code set, select the set, type a new name in the box below the Code Sets list, and then select Rename Set.

Select OK to close the Redaction Code Editor.

Select OK.
