Learn how to remove headers and footers from single or multiple PDF files using Adobe Acrobat.

Headers and footers help add page numbers, dates, or other details to PDFs. You may want to remove them when repurposing a document or preparing it for specific use cases.

Add custom headers and footers in a few simple steps.

Remove headers and footers from a single PDF

Open the PDF and select Edit from the global bar.

Select Header and footer > Remove

In the confirmation dialog box, select Yes.

Save the PDF.

Remove headers and footers from multiple PDFs

Select Go to Home view and select See all tools.

Select See all tools in the top-right corner to explore the complete set of available features in Acrobat and start new tasks easily.

Select Edit a PDF from the All tools tab.

Select Header and footer > Remove.

In the dialog box that opens, select Add files, and then choose the files you want to modify.

Select OK.

In the Output Options dialog box, specify your folder and filename preferences, and then select OK.

Note

Acrobat removes the headers and footers from all selected PDFs and saves them to the specified location.
