Customize how web pages are converted to PDFs, including layout, encoding, colors, and multimedia options.
To change web page conversion settings from Acrobat, go to All tools > Create a PDF > Web page, then select Advanced settings to customize conversion and layout options.
Alternatively, you can open the Adobe Acrobat extension in your browser and select Conversion settings for quick access to key options.
General settings
- Conversion Settings: Choose how HTML or text files are converted, including font and layout settings.
- Create bookmarks: Add bookmarks in the PDF using web page titles or URLs.
- Create PDF tags: Preserve the HTML structure in the PDF for easier navigation and accessibility.
- Place headers and footers on new page: Show the page title or URL in the header and the URL and download date/time in the footer.
HTML conversion settings
- Default Encoding: Set the input encoding of the file text from a menu of operating systems and alphabets.
- Encoding rules:

- Language Specific Font Settings: Customize script, font style, and font size.
- Default Colors: Choose default text, background, and link colors. Optionally apply to all pages.
- Force These Settings for All Pages. When this option is unselected, the default colors are applied only to pages without a specified color scheme.
- Embed multimedia content when possible: Choose to disable, embed, or link to multimedia content like SWF files.
- Reference multimedia content by URL: Enable this option to link to multimedia content instead of embedding it.
- Retain page background: Keep background colors and tiled images from the original page.
- Convert Images: Include images in the PDF.
- Underline Links: Add underlines to text links.
- Expand Scrollable Blocks: Ensure scrollable areas are fully expanded in the PDF.
