Align form fields

Learn how to align form fields in PDF forms to make them easy to use in Adobe Acrobat.

Select All tools > Prepare a form.

Press Shift + Click to select two or more fields that you want to align.

In the Prepare a form pane, under ALIGN, select any of the following options:

  • Left align: Aligns fields to the left edge of the leftmost selected field.
  • Right align: Aligns fields to the right edge of the rightmost selected field.
  • Top align: Aligns fields to the top edge of the highest selected field.
  • Bottom align: Aligns fields to the bottom edge of the lowest selected field.
  • Align horizontal center: Aligns fields along their horizontal center points.
  • Align vertical center: Aligns fields along their vertical center points.
The Align and Center section under the Prepare a form pane displays various alignment options, such as Left align, Right align, Top align, and Bottom align.
To align the form fields, select the appropriate option from the ALIGN and CENTER sections.

To center align fields on the page, use any of the following options under CENTER:

  • Center horizontally: Centers fields horizontally on the page.
  • Center vertically: Centers fields vertically on the page.
  • Center both: Centers fields both horizontally and vertically on the page.

To adjust spacing between aligned fields, select any of the following under DISTRIBUTE:

  • Distribute Vertically: Evenly spaces fields from top to bottom.
  • Distribute Horizontally: Evenly spaces fields from left to right.

Select Preview to check the alignment of the form fields.
