Modify images

Learn how to edit, replace, and adjust images in PDFs using Adobe Acrobat.

Open your PDF and select Edit from the global bar.

Select the image you want to modify.

Use any of the following tools in the left pane to modify the selected image:

  • Flip vertical to flip the image vertically along the horizontal axis.
  • Flip horizontal to flip the image horizontally along the vertical axis.
  • Rotate left to rotate the image 90° counterclockwise.
  • Rotate right to rotate the image 90° clockwise.
  • Crop image to drag the selection handles to crop the image.
  • Replace image to choose another image from your device or generate one using AI.
  • Align objects to align multiple objects by their edges.
  • Arrange objects to move objects forward or backward in the stacking order.
The Adjust Objects section in the Edit panel displays a list of options for modifying objects such as Flip vertically, Flip horizontally, Rotate image left, and more.
Select the image or object you want to modify and use the tools under Adjust Objects.

Make your desired adjustments using the selected tool.

Select outside the image to apply the changes.

Tip

Select Edit image to open the Adobe Express editor and access advanced editing tools in Acrobat.
