Print booklets

Last updated on Aug 16, 2025

Learn how to print a multi-page document as a booklet using Adobe Acrobat.

The booklet printing feature in Acrobat arranges pages so that when printed double-sided, folded, and stapled, they create a booklet with the correct page order.

For best results, use a printer that supports double-sided or duplex printing. If not, you’ll need to print pages in two passes and flip them manually. Learn more about printing duplex and multi-page documents.

Open the document and select Print this file from the global bar.

Select a printer from the Printer dropdown menu in the Print dialog box.

In the Pages to Print section, choose one of the following options:

  • All: Print all pages in the document.
  • Current: Print only the page currently visible in the viewer.
  • Pages: Enter a specific page range to print selected pages only.

Under the Page Sizing & Handling section, select Booklet.

The Page Sizing & Handling section in the Print dialog box shows the Booklet option selected, with Booklet subset, Binding, and Sheets under it.
Select the Booklet option under Page Sizing & Handling to automatically arrange and print pages in the correct order for folding and binding.

Configure the booklet settings:

  • Booklet subset: Choose Both sides for duplex printers. For manual duplex printing, choose Front side only or Back side only.
  • Sheets from: Specify the first and last sheet to print.
  • Binding: Select the binding orientation from the dropdown menu.
  • Auto-rotate pages within each sheet: Enable this to automatically adjust page orientation for the best fit.

Select Print to create the booklet.

Note

If printing manually, follow your printer's instructions to reinsert the pages for printing the second side.

Once printed, fold the pages in half and staple along the center fold to complete your booklet.
