AI Assistant and Generative summary features in Document Cloud apps have certain usage limitations. Individual, Teams, or Enterprise users of Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat Reader, and Adobe Scan are provided with a limited number of requests for AI Assistant at no additional charge, after which users must purchase an AI Assistant plan to continue using these features. These Requests cannot be used toward or combined with Creative Cloud generative credits. We reserve the right to update usage limits or to throttle or suspend usage that exceeds our limits at any time.
AI Assistant capabilities are available to customers with a free or paid entitlement when they purchase a new AI Assistant for Acrobat, Acrobat Reader, or Adobe Scan add-on subscription. By using the AI Assistant capabilities, you consent to the processing of documents and a copy of e-sign agreements in the Document Cloud apps. AI Assistant subscriptions are available on desktop, web, and mobile apps in English and a few other languages.

Definitions and limitations
Request
A Request occurs when a user types a prompt, selects a suggested prompt, or starts an AI task that meets the usage prerequisites. Only Requests that generate a Response count toward AI Assistant usage limits.
Examples:
Typing a question and receiving an answer
Selecting Generative summary and getting a summary
Response
A Response is a successful output from the AI Assistant, such as a summary or answer. Failed Requests due to technical issues do not count as Responses.
Throttling
To manage system load and ensure fair usage, AI Assistant limits the number of Requests per user (based on user ID, IP, or agreement ID) by the minute, hour, and day.
If limits are exceeded, further Requests are rejected with HTTP 429 errors. Each Request is evaluated based on resource use; some may consume more depending on the parameters involved.
