Before you begin, ensure that you adhere to the file requirements, usage limitations, and login requirements on for your Document Cloud app.
Supported file languages
- Document Cloud apps on desktop and web: Generative AI features are supported only for files in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, or Japanese.
- AI Assistant for webpages: It is supported only for English-language webpages.
File requirements
- The file size must be less than 100 MB.
- The file can have up to 600 pages.
- The PDF shouldn’t have password protection or usage restrictions.
- The file shouldn’t be a PDF Portfolio.
Note:
The limits on PDF file size and page count are determined by the server settings and will automatically adjust if the server settings change.
Usage limitations
- Prompts or questions must be under 500 characters.
- Text selections in AI Assistant must be under 8000 characters. The selected text must be on a single page and cannot span multiple pages.
- AI Assistant for webpages appears only on English-language webpages that have well-structured, readable long-form content. The AI Assistant button may not appear on certain pages, even if they seem to have long content.
Account and login requirements
You must be online.
Generative AI features must be enabled.
You must be signed in with a supported Adobe ID.
App settings
- The language of Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat Reader, and Adobe Scan applications must be set to one of the supported languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, or Japanese.
- New experience must be enabled.
- On Windows, select Menu
> Enable new Acrobat.
- On macOS, select View > Enable new Acrobat.

Supported devices and browsers
- iOS: Version 16 and later
- Android: Version 9 and later (Acrobat and Acrobat Reader) and Version 10 and later (Adobe Scan).
