Learn how to find, preview, and use high-quality Adobe Stock audio directly in your Premiere Pro projects.

Adobe Stock provides high-quality, royalty-free music and sound effects directly within Premiere Pro. This feature allows you to easily find, preview, and use professional audio tracks in your projects without leaving your editing workspace.

Why use Adobe Stock audio?

  • Access thousands of curated, high-quality tracks
  • Save time by searching and previewing audio within Premiere Pro
  • Ensure legal usage with built-in licensing
  • Seamlessly replace preview tracks with high-quality versions upon purchase
Before you begin:

Ensure you have an active Adobe Creative Cloud subscription that includes Adobe Stock.

  1. Open a project in Premiere Pro.

  2. Select Window > Workspaces > Audio.

  3. In the Essential Sound panel, select Browse.

  4. Use the search bar or browse by mood, genre, or other filters.

  5. Preview tracks by selecting the Play button next to each audio waveform.

  6. To sync playback with your timeline, enable Timeline sync.

  7. To download a preview, drag your chosen track from the Essential Sound panel to your sequence.

Premiere Pro will download a low-bitrate M4a preview version for you to try in your project.

  8. After testing the preview, select the License icon next to the track in the Essential Sound panel.

  9. Select Purchase to complete the licensing process.

Premiere Pro will automatically replace all instances of the preview with the high-quality licensed version (uncompressed WAV files at either 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz sample rates) throughout your project.

Alert:

If posting to YouTube, keep the license code handy in case you need to dispute any copyright claims.
