Learn how to perform a lift edit to remove frames from your sequence and then paste them at a different point in the timeline, leaving a gap in their place.

Lifting and pasting can be useful when you want to remove a portion of a clip and place it elsewhere without affecting the overall duration of your sequence.

  1. In the Timeline panel, select the headers of the tracks from which you want to lift frames.

  2. In the Program Monitor, select the Lift icon.

  3. Select the header of the target track where you want to place the lifted frames.

  4. Move the playhead to the location where you want to paste the lifted frames.

  5. Select Edit > Paste.

Lift and paste a portion of a clip and place it elsewhere without impacting the overall duration of your sequence.
