Extended clips are excluded from Media Intelligence indexing and search

Next steps

As a temporary workaround, if you need to extend both sides of a clip, make a blade edit in the middle of the clip first before doing any extensions. Then you can extend the beginning of the first segment and the end of the second. The edit in the middle will be invisible. If you need to extend the beginning or end after you have already extended one side, use render and replace. Render and Replace can be accessed by right-clicking on the clip in the timeline or from the Clip Menu.

Audio extensions during Generative Extend don't support music

Summary

Extending an A/V clip that contains music will result in an incomplete audio track containing silence and a label that says “Can’t complete”. This includes music-only content as well as music being present in the background. You'll receive the following error “Generative Extend can't process your audio. Check that your audio clip doesn't contain music.” The icon of the extended clip in the project panel will show a question mark.

Next steps

As a temporary workaround, if the audio portion is known to contain partial musical elements, unlink the audio/video pairing by right-clicking and selecting Unlink. Then use Generative Extend on the video portion. If the audio portion contains only music, consider using Remix to extend it after unlinking the A/V pair.

Markers on the original clip are lost after performing Generative Extend

Summary

User-entered logging metadata isn't transferred to the extended clip. These are fields such as Shot, Scene, Good Take, etc. intrinsic metadata is maintained, like FPS, in-point, out-point, etc.

The original clip's logging metadata isn't altered. Sorting by name in the Project panel will show the extended clip just after the original. You can rely on the metadata fields from the original clip.

Exchange formats are not fully supported in Generative Extend

RED R3D media recorded with a LUT selected in the camera will not display with the LUT applied when imported into Premiere Pro. This affects existing and new projects. Color pickers malfunction with Wide Gamut presets in Lumetri Color panel

Windows customers may see an Import Files dialog box that never completes in the following conditions:

The Learn,Libraries,Frame.io panels, or any panel listed in Windows Extensions, are turned on.

A crash dialog appears when signing in to Vimeo from Export mode or Adobe Media Encoder

This is a background process crashing, and it can safely be ignored. Select the Log In tab and continue to sign in to Vimeo as usual. This crash will prevent you from creating a new Vimeo account from within Premiere Pro. If you wish to make an account, use your browser to create a new account on the Vimeo website.

Caption preset lose its style after exporting and importing
