Create layouts in Freeform View in Project panel

Learn how to save and manage custom clip arrangements in Freeform View using layouts in Adobe Premiere Pro.

After you arrange your clips, you can choose to save them as a layout. 

  1. Right-click an empty space in the Freeform View and select Save As New Layout.

    The Save As New Layout option is highlighted in the Freeform View Context menu.
    To save your arrangement of clips as a layout, select Save As New Layout from the context menu.

  2. Enter a name for the layout and select OK.

    The Save New Layout As dialog displays the name my-new-layout entered in the text field.
    Type a name to save your new layout.

    Your newly saved layout is visible in the context menu. Right-click an empty space in the Freeform View to see the context menu.

  3. Continue working in Freeform View arranging your clips and bringing in new clips. Save the layout as you work (by selecting Save Layout from the context menu). Or you can save your changes as a new layout (by selecting Save As New Layout from the context menu).
