Save, export, and import custom guides

Learn how you can save guides as Guides Templates, that can be exported and imported into Premiere Pro. 

By saving your guide configurations as templates, you can simplify your editing workflow and make sure that visual elements in your projects consistently adhere to the desired layout or standards.

Save guides

  1. Select View > Guide Templates > Save Guides as Templates.

  2. Type in a name for the template and select OK.

    The guide template is saved as a guides file, which is stored in your user profile. You can access it from the View > Guide Templates menu.

Export guides

You can share guides with your teammates if you have specific settings for action safe and title safe editing spaces.

  1. Select View > Guide Templates > Manage Guides.

  2. Select a guide template and select Export to save the file to your system. 

    To select multiple guide templates, Ctrl + Click (Windows) or Cmd + Click (macOS) the grey boxes at the right of the guide template and select Export.

Import guides

  1. Select View > Guide Templates > Manage Guides.

  2. Select Import and navigate to a saved guide file to import it into Premiere Pro.
