Learn how to quickly identify, troubleshoot, and disable incompatible plugins to improve system stability so you can get back to work faster.

Cause

Premiere Pro comes with multiple effects that provide additional visual effects, tools, and workflows to enhance your video production. However, these effects or plugins can sometimes cause the application to crash.

With Effect Manager, when restarting Premiere Pro after a crash, you get a notification explaining which effect may have crashed during the last session. You also get an option to either keep the identified effect enabled or disable it in the next startup.

Solution

You can enable or disable effects using the Video Effects Manager

  1. Select Window > Effects.

  2. In the Effects panel, select and then select Manage Video Effects to view a list of all your installed effects with an option to enable or disable any effects on the next startup.

  3. Select an effect and then choose to enable or disable.

You also get a notification when restarting Premiere Pro after a crash, explaining what effect may have caused It to crash. You can then opt to either keep the identified effect or enable or disable it at the next startup.
