View effects in the Effect Controls panel

Last updated on Jun 24, 2025

Learn how to view all the effects applied to a clip.

Before you begin:

Ensure that your audio or video clips have effects applied to them.

  1. Select the clip in the Timeline panel to activate the Effect Controls panel.

The Effect Controls panel is open and is presenting the video and audio effects applied to the clip.
Expand effects, edit values for the selected clip, and drag effects to reorder them in the panel.

    Note:

It isn't necessary to position the Current Time Indicator over a clip to get this view.

  2. Select the expand icon next to an effect heading, property group, or property name to expand or collapse it.
This reveals or hides the related properties and groups associated with the effect. For example, Lumetri Color is an effect, Basic Correction is a group of settings, and Temperature is one of the properties. When you expand it, a slider appears to adjust the value.

Fixed effects like Motion, Opacity, Time Remapping, and Volume are built-in and always stay in a fixed order, and you can’t rearrange or reorder them.
