Last updated on Jun 23, 2025

Learn how to apply your created styles and use style usage indicators in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Once you have created a style, you can link it to other titles or caption tracks. Follow these steps to apply styles to text layers and captions.

  1. Select the text layer or caption you wish to edit.

  2. Select the style you wish to apply from the dropdown list.

Properties panel showing the Linked style dropdown with multiple text and caption style options, highlighting the process of applying a selected style to a text layer.
Apply or switch between text and caption styles.

  3. The text layer or caption track will now be linked to the style.

Tip:

Use style usage indicators to see how many graphics or caption tracks are using a particular style. Clicking the indicator takes you to the start of the caption track or graphic where that style is applied. Each item in the dropdown also includes metadata for easy identification:

  • Captions: sequence name: caption track: caption track name
  • Graphics: sequence name: video track: timecode: number of layers in graphic using style
