Add a marker in the Source Monitor

Adding markers in the Source Monitor is useful when you want to mark important points in your raw footage before adding it to your sequence.

  1. Drag a clip from the Project panel to the Source Monitor.

  2. Move the playhead to where you want to add the marker.

  3. Select Markers > Add Marker, or press M on the keyboard.

A marker is added at the playhead position. Markers added in the Source Monitor will also appear on the clip when you add it to the Timeline, making it easy to identify key moments in your footage.

  2. Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (macOS) in the timeline ruler.
