Use keyboard shortcuts in Adobe Premiere Pro to navigate panels, access tools, and streamline your editing workflow efficiently.

Navigate Adobe Premiere Pro quickly and efficiently with Keyboard shortcuts. They let you switch between panels, access tools, and perform tasks without relying on a mouse device. By mastering these shortcuts, you can streamline your workflow and focus more on creating great edits.

Navigate panels in Premiere Pro

  1. Use Ctrl+Shift+. (period) on Windows or Ctrl+Shift+. (period) on macOS to cycle through panels clockwise.
Use Ctrl+Shift+, (comma) on Windows or Ctrl+Shift+, (comma) for anticlockwise rotation on macOS.

A blue line around a panel indicates that the focus is on that panel.

  2. Use shortcuts to perform tasks within the panel once the panel has focus.

For example, in the Timeline panel, do the following:

    • Start or stop the playback by pressing the Spacebar.
    • Use the Left and Right keys to move frame by frame.

Use Ctrl+Alt+K (Windows) or Cmd+Opt+K (macOS) to see all shortcuts for a panel. These shortcuts work only when the panel is active.

  3. Select Keyboard Shortcuts in the Edit menu (Windows) or the Premiere Pro menu (macOS).

  4. Use the Tilde key to expand the keyboard panel.
