Detect and delete pauses in transcripts

Last updated on Jun 23, 2025

Text-Based Editing in Adobe Premiere Pro lets you detect pauses in speech and bulk delete fillers, text, or pauses in transcripts.

  1. Create a new project, select the media you'd like to import and open the Text-Based Editing workspace.

  2. Select the filter icon in the Transcript panel.

  3. Choose the Text, Filler words, Pauses, or Speakers you would like to delete.

  4. Select Delete to delete a single instance or Delete all to activate bulk delete action.

The Transcript tab is open under the Text panel. The filter for the tab has options to look for Text, Filler words, Pauses, or Speakers.
Find and delete text, filler words, pauses, or speakers to make the dialogue in your clip sound crisper.
