Attach proxies to full-resolution media

If you're using proxies created outside Premiere Pro (such as a high-end camera) or third-party software, you can link these existing proxies to the full-resolution media.
Before you begin
Import the media into your project. You can attach proxies only for video-only, audio/video, and offline clips in the Project panel. Other file types (for example, audio-only, stills, or image sequences) are not supported.

Right-click one of the selected clips.

From the context menu, select Proxy > Attach Proxies.
The Attach Proxies dialog opens displaying a list of high-resolution media clips that are currently selected in the Project panel. You can see the names of these clips and their current proxy status.

In the Attach Proxies dialog, select the file properties you want to match.
Premiere Pro uses a combination of criteria to match files, which include file names, file extensions, tape names, and timecode. If it finds a match between a high-resolution clip and a proxy file based on these criteria, it will link them together.

Select Relink others automatically if you want Premiere Pro to search for and attach proxies to any other media clips in your project that match the properties of the ones you're currently working with.

Select Use Media Browser to attach files if you want to use the Media Browser in Premiere Pro to navigate and select the proxy files you want to associate with your high-resolution clips.

Select Attach.

In the Media Browser search for and specify the proxy files to be linked.

Select OK.
The proxies are now attached, and you can edit these files. You can quickly scrub through them in your timeline, make edits, add effects, and perform other tasks without the lag that can occur when using high-resolution media.
After completing all your edits, you can reconnect the high-resolution files when you are ready to export your video.
