Dock, group, or undock panels

Learn how to dock panels together, move them in or out of groups, and undock them to float over the application window in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Docking zones: You’ll view the docking zones along the edges of a panel, group, or window. Docking a panel places it near the existing group, resizing all groups to accommodate the new panel.
Grouping zones: You’ll view grouping zones in the middle of a panel or group and along the tab area of panels. Drag and drop a panel on a grouping zone to stack it with other panels.
Dock or group panels

Drag the required panel onto the desired drop zone. The application will dock or group according to the type of drop zone.

You can present panels in a stacked or tabbed state.

Select Ctrl while dragging the panel to make it free-floating.
Undock a panel in a floating window
You can undock a panel and add and modify panels in a floating window like the application window. You can use floating windows on a secondary monitor or create workspaces like those in earlier versions of Adobe applications.

Select the panel you want to undock.

Select Undock Panel or Undock Panel Group from the panel menu.
Note:
You can also hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Command (macOS) and drag the panel or group from its current location. When you release the mouse button, the panel or group appears in a new floating window.
