Learn how to export and post your video directly to popular social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube right from within Premiere Pro.

Exporting your videos in Premiere Pro is quick and easy. You can publish directly to social media using the built-in settings that are already optimized for those platforms. You can also export to your file, or send to Adobe Media Encoder.

Before you begin

Finish editing the video. Choose your desired export settings like format, resolution, and other settings that affect the final output. Ensure you have enough disk space for the exported file.

  1. Select the sequence you want to export in the Timeline panel.

  2. Select File > Export > Media or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + M (Windows) or command + M (macOS).

  3. Choose a destination for your video from the choices in the left column, such as YouTubeVimeo, or your local drive (Media File).

    The Export window is open and export destinations, output settings and preset are highlighted.

  4. In the Export Settings dialog box:

    • Specify the file name and location.
    • Choose a format. H.264 is recommended for most online videos.
    • Select a preset or customize your settings.
      Use the Match Source – Adaptive High Bitrate preset for a quick and high-quality export. It automatically matches your sequence settings like frame size and frame rate, making things easier and efficient.
    Preset dropdown menu is displayed, select the required preset. Select More presets to open the Preset Manager and manage your presets.
    Select an export preset and manage your favorite presets.

  5. Use the Preview panel to check your video, scrub through it, set a custom duration, and adjust how it fits the frame if the export size differs.

  6. To export directly from Premiere Pro, select Export to render and save your video file.

    To export using Adobe Media Encoder, select Send to Media Encoder. Premiere Pro launches Media Encoder and adds an export job for each social media platform you want to share your video.
