Last updated on Jun 23, 2025

Learn how to group text and graphic layers when working with complex text and graphic elements in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Grouping text and graphic layers keeps the Properties panel uncluttered and is useful when you want to create cool masking effects.

  1. Select multiple layers in the Properties panel.

  2. Select the Create Group icon in the Properties panel or right-click the selected layers and select Create Group from the context menu.

The file icon in the Properties panel opens the options to create a group of the opened layers.
The selected layers in the Properties panel are grouped with a default name. You can rename the layers as needed.
